Imane Khelif is making headlines again. "She has internal problems, she is a man"

Imane Khelif won the Olympic gold in boxing in the 66 kg category. There is controversy about her gender, and new light was shed on the matter by the Algerian’s sparring partner Joana Nwamerue.

Women’s boxing at the Olympic Games has come under scrutiny from journalists and fans. There has been a lot of controversy surrounding the gender of the two competitors who ultimately won gold medals. Imane Khelif and Lin Yu-Ting, who competed in the Olympic championship fight with Yulia Szeremeta (57 kg category). Khelif and Yu-Ting were disqualified from the world championships by the IBA federation last year.

Strong words about Khelif

Both competitors failed gender tests. The IBA warned the IOC that they could pose a serious threat to other boxers at the games, but they were not given any problems there. They were allowed to compete on the basis of their passports.

Khelif recently announced that she intends to fight for justice and will sue famous people who accused her of being a man. Meanwhile, Joana Nwamerue, a Bulgarian player who was her sparring partner a few months ago, added fuel to the fire.

“Khelif has some internal issues. But he is a man. I will stick to my words until he/she does a test to prove to the world that he/she is a woman. But we all know that will not happen,” Nwamerue told Reduxx.

Nwamerue was afraid for her friends

“I think we had 3-4 sparring sessions. I have a record of everything. For me, it’s a man. Male strength. Male technique, just everything,” Nwamerue added.

The Bulgarian also emphasized that she did not feel the blows that Khelif threw at her too much. She was afraid, however, of how the situation would look during the Olympic Games. And indeed, Angela Carini looked like someone who was violated by Khelif. The Italian withdrew from the fight after 46 seconds.
