Iga Świątek’s opponent went crazy on the court. What scenes at the Australian Open

Danielle Collins defeated Destanee Aiava in the second round match of the Australian Open. The American greatly provoked the fans in the stands. Her gestures are difficult to understand.
The American tennis player is under censorship in Poland after the considerable confusion she caused during the Olympic Games in Paris (2024). Danielle Collins and Iga Świątek met in the quarterfinals of the event in the French capital. The Pole was on top, although the match was even.
Danielle Collins absolutely enraged the stands in Melbourne
After the American’s insult, Collins accused Świątek of being fake. The entire scene took place in front of the cameras, right after the meeting.
The American player does not intend to let up in the context of Świątek. During the United Cup final, she made herself felt again, as we reported.
Collins “showed off” again during her second round match at the Australian Open. The American faced the hosts’ representative Destanee Aiava. The lower-ranked Australian fought and was close to causing a big sensation. However, Collins persevered, winning in three sets – against her rival and the people in the stands behind her tennis player.
After the match, however, the American behaved in a manner unbecoming of such an experienced tennis player. The provocative gestures drew boos and whistles at Collins.
She posted the Eurosport recording with satisfaction on her Instagram stories. So it looks like she’s quite happy with what she’s done.
And that’s not all, because there was also some indiscriminate commentary after the match.
Interestingly, in 2022, on the courts in Melbourne, Collins and Świątek met in the semi-final of the event. It was also the best performance in the Polish woman’s career during the AO. Ultimately, the American triumphed in the clash with the Polish competitor, but in the final the trophy was won by the hosts’ representative Ashleigh Barty. After this triumph, the Australian ended her career, and Świątek soon took over the title of number 1 in the WTA ranking.
