Iga Świątek’s match, which is a must-see! A nod to Polish fans
Iga Świątek is only two steps away from her second tournament triumph in a row. The Pole will play in the WTA 1000 semi-finals in Cincinnati on Saturday (September 22).
Let us remind you that Iga Świątek won the tournament on the courts in Toronto (WTA 1000). In Canada, the Pole won all seven matches, and added another three during the competition in Cincinnati (also WTA 1000).
The best Polish tennis player’s form before the US Open Grand Slam is clearly on the rise. However, on the other side of the net, Jessica Pegula, representing the hosts, will stand on her way to a place in the final.

On Friday (i.e. August 21), we informed WPROST about the threat related to Saturday’s semi-final between the Pole and the American. What exactly are we talking about? Pegula had problems during the quarterfinal battle with her compatriot Amanda Anisimova and needed medical intervention during the match.
Ultimately, however, there are no negative signals from the camp of the experienced American player regarding her participation in the semi-final battle with Świątek. Let us add that the Pole had already had the opportunity to recover from her opponent’s injury, when Jelena Rybakina had to leave the court prematurely in the quarterfinals.
We can only hope that Saturday’s (August 22) semi-final will go smoothly and the winner will be decided in a sports competition. This one looks really interesting. And what is important, from the perspective of Polish fans, positive news came from the organizers from Cincinnati. The Jessica Pegula – Iga Świątek match will start in the daytime session, so looking at our time zone, around 9:00 p.m.

Iga Świątek and all her championship titles
In her career so far, the Pole has won a total of 26 championship titles on courts almost all over the world.
Świątek won six Grand Slam titles, four times at Roland Garros (2020, 2022, 2023 and 2024), once at the US Open (2022) and Wimbledon (2025). To this should be added the prestigious triumph in the WTA Finals (2023).
In addition, wins in WTA 1000 tournaments, respectively, in: Rome (2021, 2022, 2024), Doha (2022 and 2024), Indian Wells (2022 and 2024), Miami (2022), Beijing (2023), Madrid (2024), Cincinnati (2025) and the latest – in Toronto (2026).
The list also includes WTA 500 competitions: Adelaide (2021), Stuttgart (2022 and 2023), San Diego (2022), Doha (2023) and Seoul (2025).
Plus a Polish tournament accent, WTA 250 in Warsaw (2023).
As for Polish topics, it is impossible not to emphasize the bronze medal of the Olympic Games in the singles competition in Paris (2024). Świątek also won the Polish national team in the United Cup in Sydney (2026).
