Iga Świątek Wimbledon champion! The Polish woman delighted the whole world

Iga Świątek sent a bright signal towards the world in such an amazing way by winning the Wimbledon final. It was difficult to find a larger demonstration of domination and great disposition that a Polish woman showed on Saturday, late afternoon. On the one hand, it is certainly a pity Amanda Anisimova, who, after considerable mental problems, returned to the fight for high goals. On the other hand, Świątek treated the opponent in accordance with the sporting rules, not letting go for a moment.

Before the match, many issues, including statistical and historical ones, were raised. Świątek as a third Polish woman faced the chance of triumph in Wimbledon, playing in the final. Earlier, before the so -called Er Open, in 1937 Jadwiga Jędrzejowska lost in the final battle. And already in more contemporary times Agnieszka Radwańska, in 2012, got about success.

Świątek, therefore, erased a bad series of finals with the participation of Polish women in London. Interestingly, 24 years old referred to her success from 2018, when she won Wimbledon, but as a junior. As you can see, to the most important tournament in the world, covered with the biggest legend – in the final edition – the Polish woman returned in the best possible styles.

It is difficult to write something about a clash with the American that would reflect any greater competition on the court. Świątek from the very beginning began very much, in the first set three times breaking the opponent’s service and after 25 minutes winning in an impressive 6: 0 style.

It seemed that in the second set such a scenario was simply impossible to implement at this level. And yet the Polish woman won again 6: 0, closing the final in less than an hour of the game. It was a knockout.

Let’s add that this is the first triumph for Poland on Wimbledon courts in a single. Łukasz Kubot won in the double game in the past (we are talking about the senior edition), while in the mix Jan Zieliński.

Iga Świątek and all its championships

The Polish woman in her career so far has reached a total of 23. Championship titles at the courts almost all over the world.

Świątek triumphed in six struggles in a great shelter, four times on the courts of Roland Garros (2020, 2022, 2023 and 2024), once at the US Open (2022) and Wimbledon (2025). In addition, the prestigious triumph in WTA Finals (2023) should be added.

In addition, won in WTA 1000 rank tournaments, respectively in Rome (2021, 2022, 2024), Dosze (2022 and 2024), Indian Wells (2022 and 2024), Miami (2022), Beijing (2023) and Madrid (2024).

The list also includes the WTA 500 struggle, successively: Adelajda (2021), Stuttgart (2022 and 2023), San Diego (2022) and the aforementioned Dosze (2023). Plus Polish accent, WTA 250 in Warsaw (2023).

After the Olympic tournament in Paris (2024), the bronze medal of the Games should be added to this list. The first album in the history of Polish Olympicism pulled out of competition on tennis courts.
