Australian Open: Iga Świątek has advanced to the semi -final! Emma Navarro fought

Although the American player did what she could, it was difficult not to get the impression that the script of this quarter -finals was clear from the very beginning. Świątek quickly took the initiative, imposing her style of play, which was difficult to keep up with a 23 -year -old rival. Interestingly, Świątek and Navarrro are peers (year 2001), both born in May – American 18. and Polka 31.

The tennis player from the USA with the number 8 lost the first game from Świątek 1: 6. This installment lasted 35 minutes. So classically, as you could write, looking at the Polish woman’s achievements in AO 2025. Saint was broken three times by Navarro, in the first (1: 0), fifth (4: 1) and seventh (6: 1) Gemie. Especially the latter was painful from the American perspective, because she was already led 40: 0 to lose another five out of six actions. Świątek effectively opened her way to the best four tournament.

The second set, however, had a different picture. Navarro showed the best she has in her tennis arsenal. Already the first game, at the Świątek website, ended with balance, successfully for a Polish woman (1: 0). The semi -finalist of last year’s US Open in the single did not intend to let go.

A very important moment is the fifth game at the Polish service. Świątek had to defend herself against breaking. This art was successful, although Navarro could blame the last action. The Polish woman scored under the net, but reflecting the ball after her contact with the court. The American, however, did not interrupt the game, fighting to the end, it worked to her disadvantage. The action could not be undone if she was not interrupted by the player, thanks to which … the Polish woman took the lead (3: 2).

And in the next, even game, she improved the break (4: 2) a bit nervous opponent.

Such a Polish man from his hands did not orders to release. Ultimately, it ended at 6: 2 (one more breakthrough in the eighth game) and 2: 0 in the match. Thus, for the second time in the career of Świątek he will play in the semi -final of the Great Slam in Australia, equalizing his best result in this place from 2022.

In the semi -final of Świątek he will face Madison Keys. The American, set up in Melbourne with number 14, defeated the Ukrainian Elina Switolina 3: 6, 6: 3, 6: 4 in three sets after the match lasting almost two hours. The match of Świątek – Keys will probably take place on the night of Wednesday to Thursday Polish time, so there will be not much place to rest.
