Other than that, I don’t make many changes to the team. I think this is a very good approach. I like to give the team the opportunity to “reset” and start working a little differently. However, in this case I felt that it was simply time for a change, explained Iga Świątek.

From that moment on, speculation began as to who might become the new Polish coach. The list of names included mainly former coaches associated with the Rafael Nadal Academy. Ultimately, Iga Świątek announced that she was starting cooperation with Francisco Roig, who had previously collaborated with the Spanish tennis star.
“Welcome to the team Francisco! I’m very excited to start a new chapter,” the tennis player wrote on her Instagram profile.

He also collaborated briefly with Emma Raducanu. Experts emphasize that his greatest advantage is experience on clay courts, which may be crucial for Iga Świątek.

Rafael Nadal had complete confidence in him, as well as in his working style. Roig is a cheerful but serious man.
