Iga Świątek returned to the game! The Polish woman surprised with her attitude

Iga Świątek defeated Victoria Azarenka in two sets in the second round of the WTA 500 tournament in German Bad Homburg.
It was no secret that the favorite of Tuesday’s match would be a Polish woman. A 24 -year -old Iga Świątek is not a player who can be called a specialist in playing courts.
In the face of the upcoming challenge, which is the Grand Slam Wimbledon, a match with such an experienced rival – like Wiktoria Azarenka – seemed to be perfect for a Polish woman. The more so because Świątek is the more an appetite for a good result in the entire WTA 500 tournament in German Bad Homburg. Where Polish fans, which could be easily guessed, was and will be a lot in the stands.
WTA 500 Bad Homburg: Iga Świątek beat Victoria Azarenka in two sets
Tuesday, however, was not a walk for a Polish woman. A 36 -year -old Belarusian in her rich career was, among others Twice in the Wimbledon semi -final (2011 and 2012). This shows best that grassy courts are not a secret to her. Although, as in the case of Świątek, Azarenka was the most successful on other surfaces.
Ultimately, however, the Polish woman was able to win in two quite equal sets, in the same ratio 6: 4, 6: 4.
The quality of the website, which Świątek presented, certainly deserves appreciation. Actually, throughout the entire meeting it was a very strong weapon in a fan of a Polish tennis player. The service at this level is a clear improvement compared to previous seasons. It must be admitted until this element on the side of Świątek looks surprisingly well, but great applause for both the player and the staff, headed by the Wim Fissette coach.
The Polish woman was also able to respond to the emphasis on the side of the Belarusian. Azarenka was able to go to the lead, but also break the service of the number 4 in the opponent’s tournament. This was the case at 3: 1 in the first set, where the Polish woman returned on the last straight to the chance to win the party. Azarenka, leading 4: 3, finally let herself be played 4: 6.
The second attempt is 3: 2 for Azarenka, which eventually turned into 4: 6. It was hard not to get the impression that a Polish woman even under pressure simply controlled the events on the court. What for the first performance of the season on grass courts is certainly a good forecast.
In the quarterfinals of the Tournament in Bad Homburg Świątek will play with the winner the clash of Maria Sakkari – Jekaterina Aleksandrowa. The favorite is the second of these, but Greeks can certainly not be underestimated. This meeting is scheduled for Wednesday (i.e. June 25).
