Iga Świątek returns to competition. On Wednesday (June 24), you will be able to see the Pole again, for the first time since her unsuccessful appearance at Roland Garros.
Let us recall that the four-time champion of the event in the French capital lost in the fourth round to Marta Kostiuk, a disappointing result considering the history of her starts at the Grand Slam in Paris. This meeting took place on May 31, on the Polish tennis player’s 25th birthday. Since then, Świątek has not appeared on the court in an official match.
It’s time for the Wimbledon mission. Iga Świątek starts with WTA 500 Bad Homburg
The Pole will soon defend her championship title on the grass courts of Wimbledon. However, before the next Grand Slam challenge, Świątek will perform at a tournament in Germany. During last year’s WTA 500 in Bad Homburg, the best Polish tennis player reached the final. In the title game, Świątek was defeated only by Jessica Pegula.
On Wednesday (June 24), the Pole will face the US tennis player again. However, her rival will be Emma Navarro, ranked lower than the above-mentioned Pegula. A rival you definitely need to watch out for. We are talking about a tennis player who is in 24th place in the WTA ranking. Interestingly, Świątek will be seeded number 1 in the German event.
When and where to watch the Świątek-Navarro match? Start not before 3:30 p.m. The match between the Pole and the American will be the third scheduled on the center court in Germany.
