Iga Świątek has already chosen a new coach? The media indicates the name
As reported by “L’Equipe”, the Polish tennis player did not have to look for a successor to the previous coach for long. According to unofficial reports, it is to be Francisco Roig. He is a Spaniard who has cooperated in the past with, among others, with the legendary Rafael Nadal.
– When we started working together, I was a child and just joining the (ATP) cycle, together with my uncle Toni. Francis is a great coach who knows tennis very well and helped me get better. I only feel gratitude to him and wish him luck in his next projects, said Rafael Nadal, recalling their common sports path.
Most recently, Francisco Roig served as Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard’s coach. However, their cooperation lasted only a few weeks, and according to media speculations, it ended precisely because the trainer would join Iga Świątek’s staff. Previously, Roig collaborated with, among others, with the British Emma Raducanu and the Italian Matteo Berrettini.
It is worth emphasizing that Iga Świątek has not yet officially announced who will be her new coach.
