I saw what Warsaw looks like in miniature. It opened in the capital

Until now, we associated with this attraction mainly Wrocław. From today in the Polish capital we will see a unique queue in the new edition. It is a miniature city full of mockups and surprises.
On Friday, April 11, I went to the great opening of the new Kolejkowo Warsaw attraction. We will find it in the Warsaw Towers building at ul. Sienna 39, right at the Central Station. Even if you are people outside this city, you’ll find it easily. What will you see on the spot? Real Warsaw only in a miniature version. Even in this edition, this is teeming with life, thanks to scenes or special effects. Representatives and authors of this undertaking welcomed everyone personally. There was no shortage of positive impressions, and I was enchanted. Before you, the abbreviation of what this magical world of mockup looks like, although the photos reflect this interior only to a small extent.
Kolejkowo Warsaw is already open. What is this attraction?
Kolejkowo is an interactive railway model that presents in the selected reality. Miniature trains, trams, cars, ships and even planes appear on this model. This time, most of the elements were created as usual in the heart of the undertaking, i.e. in the modeling shop in Jelenia Góra, and the rest on the spot, i.e. in Warsaw. Until now, tourists could watch the mapped Wrocław and Gliwice, now it’s time for the next city. About 20 modelers worked with everything, including carpenters and electricians. The project has been created for two years.
– Warsaw is another, very important chapter in Kolejków’s history. We wanted to show the capital in a way that surprises, touches and draws in details. Above the city there is a storm with real rain, and visitors can start the scenes themselves with the help of interactive buttons, becoming part of the miniature world – said Jakub Paczyński, president and queue originator.
Mikołaj Królikowski said about what distinguishes this facility from the others.
– What distinguishes the attraction in this city from our other locations is that many technological solutions were used here, which were not in our mockups before. An interesting fact is that the first time was created a floating ship on the Vistula, which flows under two bridges – he informed.
He emphasized that this place for people of all ages and the role of interactive elements. – We want the guest to focus on what he is watching, he was still surprised and not looked at the phone – he added.
What will you not see in the form of a model? Palace of Culture or the Central Station, but Warsaw Śródmieście is visible. We will see the missing attractions in the pictures that perfectly complement the whole. The project implementer quietly explained where the decision to resign to present the most famous building in the city. It was mainly about technical aspects – it turned out to be too high. – If the object is too large, it becomes boring on such a model, because we can not put much into it, we give up such elements. – she explained.
Although not everything appears, there are enough attractions, buildings and details. Place employees inform that it is best to spend a minimum of 1.5 hours for peaceful sightseeing. Interestingly, this place will constantly develop, over time new elements will appear there, and some will be replaced by others.
This is how Warsaw looks like
It is magical, colorful on the spot, and the space is very large. The exhibition takes up to 1000 square meters. There you will find 580 meters of track, 17 trains, 68 wagons, 202 cars, 155 buildings, 5023 figurines of people and animals, and bridges and tunnels.
Looking at the modeling machines, you will see a faithfully reproduced Royal Castle, Old Town, Castle Square, Zygmunt’s column, Citadel, Gdańsk Bridge, a monument of a small insurgent, a mermaid, Różycki bazaar, Plac Zbawiciek, and even a tenement house from the series “Alternatives 4” and many others. On me the most spectacular impression was made by the effect of a storm and rain at Plac Zbawiciela, we could watch how the water appears on the streets, and the inhabitants stand in place under the umbrellas.
The only thing I think was missing with specific places under mock -ups, I think they would make it easier to visit people who do not know the city. I heard some of them ask where they would find a given element – I think it would be easier with tips.
In a miniature reality we can count on a day that lasts 9 minutes. Later it gets dark and the night comes, which lasts 4 minutes. Regardless of the pores, the inhabitants of Kolejków lead their daily lives surrounded by carefully reproduced buildings and streets. Are you curious more? It’s best to see it live.
