I discovered an extraordinary Warsaw park. Footbridges in the treetops near the city center
There is no shortage of charming parks in Warsaw. One of them is definitely the Park Akcja “Burza”. It is most often visited by residents of Dolny Mokotów, but it is worth coming there even from the center.
I ended up in this park for a reason, because I was encouraged by one of the Instagram posts. I saw footbridges in the treetops, and since such places always attract my attention, I couldn’t resist seeing it with my own eyes. I didn’t have far to go, after all, I live in Warsaw. I entered the name Park Akcja “Burza” in my satnav and rode my bike to my destination.
Park Akcja “Burza”. A unique place in the capital
The aforementioned park is the area under the Warsaw Uprising Mound. I find it exactly on Bartycka Street, on the left bank of the Vistula in the Mokotów district. I move around on foot, thanks to which I do not miss many interesting elements. In addition, it is easier to move around on the footbridges. Before entering them, you can lock your bike in a safe place.
I got to the Action “Burza” park for the first time this year. Right from the start I was enchanted by the new silver footbridges, which really allow you to walk close to the trees. There are also such parts of the path when you come down from this structure, but further on there are more and more parts of footbridges. There are really a lot of them, and interestingly they are located at a fairly high altitude.
In the park itself, the very steep stairs that lead to the top of the mound make an impression. There is the Monument to Fighting Poland. From the top, you can admire the panorama of the city. The place is green, peaceful and atmospheric. What is important is of great importance to the residents of the capital.
Attractions for families with children
During my visit to the park, I quickly discovered that it is a friendly place for everyone – adults, children and dogs. On a fairly large area, I was impressed by the attractive playground with a rope climbing structure, tunnels, swings and a slide.
Apart from the footbridges on the walking route, what I liked the most were the historical exhibitions and the gullies resembling war trenches with walls made of rubble concrete. In these walls you can see small elements embedded in them, such as tools or kitchen utensils. In the summer, this place looked even more beautiful thanks to the colorful flowers.
In summary, I rate both my visit and the entire park very positively. I recommend this place to anyone who loves walking in interesting locations and likes to discover areas where the spirit of history is present. The park and the panorama are good at any time of day, including in the evening. If you go with children, they will definitely not be bored.
In my case, it didn’t end with one visit. I was just as enchanted every time. There will probably be a completely different atmosphere there in the fall. I plan to check it out soon.
