Marcin Możdżonek recalled his time playing for the Polish national team. The former volleyball player noted that politics was never amongfrom staff members is a forbidden topic. – We talked about politics, but not as often as you might think. It was just one of life’s many themes. In the national team, as in every social group, there were people with different views and sensitivities, including political ones. But politics has never been the source of any conflicts. We have always risen above this, he assured.

Marcin Możdżonek does not hide the fact that he has been an avid hunter for years. As he recalled, his passion for hunting accompanied him also during his active sports career and was no secret to his teammates.

– Everyone knew and no one had a problem with it. I’ll tell you more. During the training camps in Spała, I went hunting several times. Once I even hunted a wild boar and we all ate it together. To this day, everyone is alive, happy, strong and healthy – noted the former captain of the Polish team.

The former volleyball player admitted that “only once, in one of the clubs where he played, did he meet a friend who declared himself an ecologist.” Even after all these years, he did not spare words of criticism towards him. – His substantive knowledge was embarrassingly low. He was ideological and had no idea what he was talking about, he said.

Możdżonek about Spiridonov and Poland’s matches with Russia

Later in the conversation on the Sejm Channel Marcin Możdżonek was asked about the matches with the Russian national team, ktwhich have always had special meaning for both fans and players themselves.

– Matches against the Russians always brought an additional level of emotion. For several reasons: historical, but also sporting. They have always attracted the attention of fans, if only because of the times of Hubert Wagner and his team, which fought fierce duels with the Russians, often winning in tie-breaks – he recalled.

The former captain added that for years the Russians were among the leaders in the world volleyball teamwki. – It’s best to play against the best, equal rivals. That’s why these matches were so intense, he said.

When asked whether the controversial statements of some volleyball players against Poland and Poles were an additional motivation for the players, the former center replied in the affirmative. – We also knew what to do. We didn’t need any additional provocations. However, I remember the situation with Spiridonov, it was a great scandal – he recalled.

Marcin Możdżonek noted that “the receiver also faced criticism in his home team.” – The vast majority of volleyball players in the Russian team did not respect him either. He was such a dissenter who was rather unworthy of representing the country. He liked to provoke. He heard many times from us, and from me, what we thought about him, he concluded.
