Huge risk of Iga Świątek. The Polish woman has just made a decision on Roland Garros

Iga Świątek will start competing at his favorite courts in Paris in a few days. The Polish woman made a key decision before the start of Roland Garros 2025.
This is not an easy time for the best Polish tennis player. Iga Świątek was to reverse the wrong card, breaking on the courts with a brick surface. However, this did not happen. In the semi -finals, the Polish woman lost in Madrid with Coco Gouff, and then in Rome – already at the 3rd round of Danielle Collins. In both cases, we are talking about WTA 1000 rank events. Such results meant that the Polish woman would fall beyond the top three ranking.
Iga Świątek made a decision before Roland Garros. Is this a surprise?
In the case of activities related to the improvement of the game or proper preparation for a specific calendar party, there are two schools. One of them says that a player or player – best regaining confidence or improved playing when … he will play, i.e. take part in the competition, instead of “just” training.
Pole Marion Bartoli provided for such a path after a sensational defeat in Rome.
– It will be a difficult situation. Will Świątek ask for a wild card in one of the events preceding Roland Garros? This is a big question mark. For example, Novak Djokovic asked for a “wild card” in Geneva. I think Iga has deficiencies in the match game. I have the impression that he will probably sit with his team and wonder if they will choose 10 days of training in Paris at Roland Garros, where she will have a title to defend, will he actually go to the tournament? I think he will choose the latter option – she assessed in “The Tennis Gazette” by Wimbledon champion from 2013.
What is the decision from Świątek? There will be no changes. The organizers of the WTA 500 tournaments in Strasbourg or the WTA 250 in Rabat can only sigh. Świątek will not come to their tournaments. The Polish woman now needs, at least according to her team, rest and good training, before Roland Garros 2025 begins.
– Plans have not changed and Paris is the next tournament. Now a moment for regeneration, then a return to training before the tournament – said Sport.pl Daria Sulgostowska, or PR Manager of the Świątek team.
Let us remind you that the Paris tournament will start from May 25. Therefore, the Polish woman has just over a week and proper preparation to defend the title of “Queen of Paris”.
Świątek triumphed in five struggles in a great shelter, four times on the courts of Roland Garros (2020, 2022, 2023 and 2024) and once at the US Open (2022).
