Hubert Hurkacz’s interrupted match! The Pole managed to pierce Iga of Świątek

Looking at the ATP ranking, Jakub Meniek was before meeting the favorite of the clash. The Czech in the tournament ladder in the Italian capital was the number 20 in the case of Hubert Hurkacz, here was one of the lowest spacing, i.e. thirty at the name.

In recent weeks, Wroclaw in recent weeks, and actually months, could not boast of particularly successful performances. And this is a mild term, because the tennis player, who was in the top ten ATP ranking last year, is now far below his actual skills.

Who knows, perhaps a breakthrough tournament to take the course for good results, this year’s ATP 1000 in Rome. The Pole came to Italian flour as last year’s quarter -final. In the capital of Italy, he is playing very nicely, you can see that “hubi” feels good in these realities. Although, paradoxically, a Pole is rather valued for playing on a fast, hard surface, and he achieved his greatest Grand Slam success … on London grass during Wimbledon (2021).

However, Meniek is one of the most talented tennis players of the young generation. The Czech will not be 20 years old on September 1, and already has, among others Victory in the ATP 1000 tournament in Miami. At the end of March, in the final in Florida, Mensik beat Novak Djokovic, and this shows the scale of this boy’s possibilities well.

In the clash with Hurkacz, however, we saw a tough, men’s fight. A funny story was the fact that both men dressed … almost identically. The difference was actually only on the style of wearing a baseball cap, a Pole in the front version, and the MENESIK at the back.

And what were purely sports matters? A powerful service on both sides and guarding the games on your application, but also quite good exchanges, interesting tennis. Already the first batch brought a lot of emotions, finally ended with the result 7: 6, in Tie-Break 7: 5 in favor of a Pole. Interesting playing began from the state of 4: 5 to the disadvantage of Hurkacz, when he had to defend the set balls, serving. After winning the number 1, dark clouds gathered over the court and the match had to be stopped. It was not the only story, as the next minutes of the meeting showed.

After returning to the court, the Pole once lost his service gem (3: 4) and it was enough for the Czech to get his way and close the party. Menius won 6: 4 and it got 1: 1, but in the third installment, the match had to be suspended again – due to rainfall.

Regardless of the final decisions, Hurkacz plays really well. What’s more, the Pole unexpectedly pierced Iga Świątek, who reached only the third round in the capital of Italy, losing sensationally to Danielle Collins. At the same stage, Magdalena Fręch and Magda Linette also said goodbye to the games.
