Hubert Hurkacz with a key win over the Russian. Now the Pole will play in the hit!

In three sets, Hubert Hurkacz dealt with Andriej Rublow in the quarter -finals of the ATP 500 tournament in Rotterdam. On Saturday, the Pole will play with Carlos Alcaraz.
Hubert Hurkacz has very difficult months behind him. The best Polish tennis player suffered a serious knee injury during last year’s Wimbledon. In the grass of the legendary tournament in London, in the following months, in the following months, the whole plan had collapsed both for the 2024 season and the opening of 2025.
Hubert Hurkacz in the ATP 500 semi -final in Rotterdam. A solid form of a Pole
Wroclaw had to deal not only with health problems. Due to the injury, the Pole lost the chance to participate in the Olympic Games. The Parisian tournament introduced itself for “Hubi” in positive colors. Hurkacz, however, did not play in the Olympic tournament, where, apart from the single competition, he also lost the chances of a mix with Iga Świątek and a double with Jan Zieliński.
Even worse, Hurkacz, due to his absence in the second part of 2024, began to be classified lower in the world ranking. Adding to this an unsuccessful performance at the Australian Open 2025, the best Polish singling fell beyond the top twenty ATP set. What in recent years, it seemed rather unimaginable. Hurkacz, for now, recovered – most importantly – with a new coach (Nicolas Massu) and a pretty good game.
This can be seen in Rotterdam, during the ATP 500 rank tournament. On Friday, a very late evening, the Pole celebrated Andrei Rublowa 6: 7 (5), 6: 3, 6: 4 in three sets. The victory over the Russian was very valuable. This is the first win of Hurkacz in 2025 on a player from the top ten ATP ranking. In addition, thanks to the victory, after the tournament in Rotterdam, the Pole will return to the top 20 of the world ranking.
