How much do you have to pay for cleaning and renovation?
The data quoted by Oferteo show that the cost of cleaning an apartment of 50 square meters. in Warsaw is on average from PLN 150 to 200 for a single visit. For cleaning the apartment, approximately 100 square meters. you have to pay almost PLN 500.
Moving on to renovations, the website points out that owners of apartments with an area of 60 to 80 sq m. they pay from several hundred to even several thousand zlotys a year for minor repairs/maintenance. For painting walls, you pay from PLN 18 to PLN 38 per square meter, and for laying wall tiles from PLN 110 to PLN 160 per square meter.
– If ~20% of expenses are the use of the apartment, then with annual expenses of ~PLN 19,200 per person (assuming PLN 1,600 × 12 months) it means ~PLN 3,840 per year for this segment. If we add that household services (cleaning, maintenance, gardening, minor renovations) may cost e.g. PLN 1,000-2,000 per year per household (or more in large cities), the share of these services may range from approximately 5% to 10% of the total expenses for maintaining a house/apartment per year. Depending on the size of the apartment, the number of services and the intensity of work, this number may be even higher – the website calculates.
The “Oferteo Services Barometer” report shows that Poles are changing their priorities, spending less on large seasonal investments and more on ongoing repairs and maintenance. In practice, this means a greater demand for handyman services, furnace servicing, winter preparations, and garden care. Each such service increases maintenance costs. In turn, general inflationary pressure and increases in utility costs intensify the impact of these expenses.
– When the cost of living increases and major renovations are postponed, home maintenance services become a silent but growing component of the budget – small work, servicing, cleaning are more than a luxury today, they are a need – comments Marta Kaleta-Domaradzka, Oferteo.pl expert.
