Hołownia had a sad conversation with the pensioner. “The legs shook, the ground collapsed”
Marshal of the Sejm Szymon Hołownia visited the town of Pleszew in Greater Poland. There he had a difficult conversation with one of the residents. The man’s words moved those gathered.
The leader of Poland 2050 went to the west of the country as part of the “Under one flag” series. There, in one of the restaurants, he met the inhabitants of the town of Pleszew, where fewer than 20,000 people live.
The senior wanted to talk to the coalition politician, who started last year by taking part in the so-called exchange program. stoves (coal stoves) and equipped his property with a heat pump and photovoltaics. The retiree did not expect that his decisions would lead him to rock bottom.
“When I got the electricity bill, my legs were shaking.”
The man admitted that he decided to make the above-mentioned three moves due to the expected savings and he wanted to take care of the environment. He stated that he “believed the Polish government” that it was worth doing. He threw in the towel to get the grant and then proceeded as planned. Unfortunately, everything was fine, but only for a while. – When I got the electricity bill. My legs shook and the ground collapsed. I have to pay for my electricity in thousands of zlotys (…) I am naked and cheerful – he admitted, the man was quoted by the Interia portal.
How much did photovoltaics cost him? The older man indicated that he “paid” as much as “PLN 50,000” for it. – I only received the subsidy for a heat pump. I put my entire life savings, money for a rainy day, so that I could have a better life and clean air. Not only for myself, but for all of us, I did it. Now I suffer the consequences, he said. With a heavy heart, the senior admitted that he was “ruined.” The pension benefit he receives every month is only enough to cover his electricity bills. A resident of Greater Poland showed them to Hołownia – he has to pay another PLN 2,000. zloty. What conditions does he live in now? He keeps the temperature at 18 degrees Celsius at home and does not use an electric kettle or oven, explained a person close to the retiree.
Hołownia admitted that he was “in the same situation.” However, the Polish 2050 politician established photovoltaics earlier, “following the old rules”. For this reason, he admitted, “they steal less from him.” The marshal said that he “also contributes to this business”, although he previously thought that the investment would help him “zero out his bills”. The Third Way leader noted that the rules that govern this issue “are sick.” – Today you are in a situation in which the state has treated you in a radically unfair way. This cries to heaven for vengeance, he emphasized.
Hołownia took the bills. “I Commit”
The Marshal announced that the government had approved the prosumer bill, and it would go to the lower house in about a week or two. – She puts these matters back on their feet. The only question is what will happen to people like you, to people who are already in such a situation – he wondered. But that’s not all, Hołownia took the bills and documents from the man and announced that he would ask the Ministry of Climate and Environment what a person in the situation of a pensioner, who trusted the government, contributed several dozen thousand to take part in the fight for a better environment, what Poland needs, should do, what program to use now.
– I won’t give you an answer today because I’m not in this ministry and I don’t know it that well. What I undertake is to take this matter with me and help you solve this problem as quickly as possible, he assured. According to Hołownia, the situation will not improve thanks to energy storage, but only thanks to the improvement of the prosumer system, which will make it simply profitable to produce “green electricity” in the country.
