Kaskada Park is an old place
There are many data that there is no older park in Warsaw than this one. There is a unique and long story behind him. Initially, he was forested and used as the summer residence of the royal couple. The area of the place was about 100 acres. Then the area was owned by, among others August II. The area changed owners many times, and in war was occupied, among others by Russian troops.
It is known that the functions of the Kaskada Park have changed. The biggest recreational role began to play when in 1695 Jan III Sobieski built a palace and two pavilions for his Marysieńka. The park similar to the current form was founded in 1951 according to the design of Ludwika Lewin and officially opened on May 1, 1951. For the first time, however, it was created in 1779-1780. The name of the park comes from a waterfall powered by a natural source, which was arranged in 1820.
The perfect place for a walk
Today, Kaskada Park makes spending free time and visitors. Eagerly chosen, among others For peaceful weekend walks. It is characterized by lush greenery, picturesque terrain and beautiful vegetation. A special point of the place is an artificial cascade, i.e. a charming fountain and a pond. There is no shortage of atmospheric benches, commemorative plaques, including referring to the time of the Warsaw Uprising and a cafe.
After the last renovation, which ended in 2020, the park enriched, among others for recreational elements such as a modern playground for children and an outdoor gym. Today this place is conducive to walking, running and other activities.
The park can be found between Aleja Armii Krajowej and Słowackiego Street. From the center you will get to him by car or public transport for just less than 20 minutes.
