Here is the hero of Bogdanka Luk Lublin. He gave victory in the battle for the gold medal

Even before the start of the meeting, the information broke out that coach Michał Winiarski will certainly not be able to use the injured Karol Butryn. Attacking Polish runners -up is one of the team leaders, so his lack was felt. Added to this were the issues of passports, because as you know, the recipe in PlusLiga is such that there can be only three foreigners on the pitch at one time. For this reason, Aaron Russel, usually the basic volleyball player of Poland, appeared only for a moment on the pitch – which in normal conditions – would rather be a unique situation.

The problems of Polish runners -up, however, do not diminish the success that the team from Lublin achieved. Bogdanka Luk is a debutant in the final of the Polish championships. Jurassic knights were already in the previous campaign, reaching for silver medals. It is possible that the feat of the Winiarski coach’s team will be … just Lublin. On Wednesday (i.e. April 30) they took a serious step, winning in three sets in Sosnowiec.

Bogdanka Luk usually has a leader in the form of Wilfredo Leon. At least this is how it looks, whether on paper or in the context of points scored by the famous Polish representative. The Lublin team in the decisive part of the season, in the national and European yard (winners of the Challenge Cup), proved, however, that their composition is varied. What does it mean? For example, during the semi -final number 3 against the abdicating Polish champions, Kewin Sasak was elected MVP. An attacker who can as well convince Nikola Grbcia to his services in the context of the game for the Polish national team.

Marcin Komenda is also very well played by the team. The captain, who – in the absence of Marcin Janusz – will fight for “one” in the squad. And you have to admit, if this actually happens, it will be a well -deserved appointment. Central Fynnian McCarthy and Aleks Groupow duo? They also have their great advantages.

On Wednesday, late afternoon in Sosnowiec (there the matches in the role of hosts are played by Jurassic knights) the best on the pitch from Bogdanka Luk was Mikołaj Sawicki.

Already in the first set Sawicki himself scored as many as 11 points. It was he who turned out to be the number one option on the visitors’ offensive. In addition to a good game on the net, Leon also added a lot in the service field. There was also a point block. In total, 20 points on the account in the whole match. With up to 65%, three aces, two point blocks, four defense. And Sawicki accepted sixteen times, at a decent level (38% positive), although there are reserves here.

Most important, however, Bogdanka Luk showed what she has been known from the beginning of the season. Strong service, different leaders (Leon scored a great series of licks in the third set, reversing his fate), and it seems to be a perfect moment for the team of coach Massimo Botti.
