He offered the artist accommodation. When he returned, he didn’t recognize his apartment

Spraying all over the walls of your house? Typically, we would classify such behavior as vandalism. However, for some reasons, the owner of the studio apartment in Tokyo decided not to press charges.
Using the online application Airbnb, a Canadian named Eric shared his home with a famous artist. He was delighted that Ali Sabet, who came to Japan for the Tokyo Art Fair, would stay overnight in his apartment. When the painter with American-Iranian roots arrived at the place, he found a short note on the kitchen table. In it, Eric made a shy request to leave “inspiration” on a free wall in the kitchen and near the door.
Sabet took this request to heart. In the indicated places he included several permanent motifs of his work – including: images of a woman with big eyes and long eyelashes. Wena carried the painter a bit, because with his drawings and inscriptions he also went beyond the space designated for him. Ultimately, Eric’s room looked completely different than before the artist’s arrival. However, he did not consider it vandalism. On the contrary, he expressed his delight and decided not to charge the creator for his stay, inviting him to come back again.
– Painting on the walls of this amazing tiny house in Shibuya, Tokyo was like a dream – Sabet later said in an interview with Bored Panda. – I am very grateful that I could create and leave a part of myself in Tokyo – a place that I would like to call my second home one day – he added. Journalists describing this story emphasize that despite the artist’s interference, the value of Eric’s apartment should not increase significantly in the near future. Sabet’s works usually sell for around PLN 3,000. dollars.
