Alexander von Humboldt II. What makes it unique?

The captain of the unit, Conrad Schepers, spoke about the unique character of the green sailing ship in an interview with Radio Gdańsk. He revealed that the crew members are mainly very young volunteers, some of them are also professionally involved in sailing. He assured that there is a pleasant atmosphere there and that he feels happy visiting Poland.

The sailing ship stands out from the others because of its color, but it is also quite large – about 65 meters long. Additionally, it has 24 green sails with a total area of approximately 1,360 square meters. The characteristic color did not come out of nowhere. It is a symbol of commitment to ecology and symbolizes the crew’s awareness in this respect – the ship is equipped with a sewage treatment system and adheres to strict waste segregation rules.

What the attraction looks like can be seen, among others: in photos published on social media. You will find it in the Presidential Pool at the Pomeranian Quay, near the famous Dar Pomorza ship and a popular walking point.
