A talented angler caught a record fish from the Centrarchidae family and went down in history forever – which was his great dream. Unfortunately, he died a few months later.
Whitwell resident Darren Nunley caught a giant largemouth bass (Micropterus salmoides). Nickajack pulled the fish from the bass family from the reservoir.
The event, which received wide attention in the fishing world, took place at the end of February this year. He didn’t think that the specimen he caught on a hook would be so big that a new record would be announced. Everything became clear when M. salmoides hit a certified scale.

The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency officially confirmed the new record, Local 3 News reported.
The foreign portal also reported sad news – today (Thursday – July 16) the funeral of a talented angler took place. The editorial team learned about it from the obituary, which was published on the Internet – on one of the platforms dedicated to such announcements.
