He caught a fish weighing as much as a dog. A new record was broken
The fisherman set a new record. The marine fish from the Epinephelidae family weighed as much as an average-sized dog.
John Theodorakis caught a huge yellowfin grouper (Mycteroperca venenosa) in the Atlantic Ocean. To do this, the Wilmington resident went to Carolina Beach, then boarded a ship and set off into the distance.
His expedition into the depths of the ocean took place in early July this year. Coastal Review reported that the fish he pulled out of the Atlantic was a record-breaking one – which was recently officially confirmed by the Marine Fisheries Division of the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality.
This is how much the giant M. venenosa weighed
The huge specimen caught by Theodorakis from Wilmington weighed 45 pounds and 9.6 ounces, which is nearly 20.7 kilograms, a foreign portal reported.
This is approximately the size of a medium-sized representative of Canis familiaris.
A blacklist that US anglers are afraid to look at
On the occasion of setting a new record that was set in the state of North Carolina, we would like to remind you about an infamous list that anglers would prefer to forget. Even though the fish on it were caught decades ago, no one has ever come across larger specimens.
