Political commentators have been convinced for many months (and perhaps years) that the Civic Coalition’s candidate for president will be Rafał Trzaskowski. After the latest mistake of the president of Warsaw, they may have some doubts.
Rafał Trzaskowski, next to Szymon Hołownia, is the politician most often mentioned in the current ruling camp in the context of next year’s presidential elections. From time to time, there are rumors about Donald Tusk or Radosław Sikorski, but polls still indicate that the president of Warsaw should represent KO and the entire coalition on October 15.
Trzaskowski’s mistake. He turned Nvidia into a startup
This type of speculation should make us all look at Trzaskowski’s statements and actions much more carefully than usual. Meanwhile, the KO politician’s considerable blunder goes almost unnoticed. Especially in times when every similar statement is followed by an outpouring of memes, this seems like an extraordinary oversight.
These are the words Trzaskowski said on Thursday, October 17, during his speech before students of the University of Warsaw. – Raise $100 million, invent a new chip without having to produce it. And so many inventions were created, for example Nvidia, which no one had heard of 4 years ago, which was a company that produced chips that could perform many activities at the same time – said the politician.
– They were for optical technology, but above all, it turned out that artificial intelligence needs this type of integrated circuits and today it is one of the richest companies in the world – he added.

The above-mentioned Nvidia is today one of the most highly valued companies, which will certainly count the last few years as exceptionally successful. However, it is difficult to agree with the statement that she was not known four years ago. This is not a startup, but a powerhouse in the field of graphics cards and processors founded in 1993.
Trzaskowski’s mistake is all the more painful because he once served as the Minister of Digital Affairs. He held this position from December 3, 2013 to September 22, 2014. However, several Internet users tried to defend Trzaskowski. “He’s kind of right. Only those interested knew. Now, apart from those interested, there is a large group of investors,” wrote one of them on X. Others noted that you don’t actually have to know everything. However, they immediately added that there was no need to comment on every topic.
