Hard landing of Poles at the World Cup. Hit in the shadow of the captain’s drama
The Polish volleyball team will not play in the final of the world championships. In the Saturday semi -final, Poles lost 0: 3 to the world champions of Italians.
It was a match for the final of the World Cup tournament. Finally, the champions and runners -up of the world from 2022 met opposite.
In the end, Italians were the top again. Italia had more sports arguments that Poles lacked that day. In the background there was certainly a big blow in the form of an injury of Bartosz Kurek. It must be admitted that the course of the meeting did not indicate that in the Saturday semi -final the bands stood in front of each other, which were the best in the struggle in 2022. World champions and European champions were simply nervous in their actions, there were many mistakes, easy starting points in series.
Poles lost the match in three sets, but it’s hard not to get the impression that they might as well win in each page. What was missing? From point to point, Italians caught confidence that was missing on the Polish side that day. The team leader was Wilfredo Leon. However, he was lonely in the fight against the opponent. Kamil Semeniuk after two sets was changed in position by Tomasz Fornal. In addition, Kewin Sasak, although he ended as the second best scoring teams, certainly had much better performances – even in this year’s edition of the League of Nations.
The resulting, Poles started the first party with the lead, but at 14:12, soon it was 16:18 to the detriment of the runners -up in the world. Second set? This time, Italians with the lead 18:14, so that after a few really spectacular actions from the Polish side, it would get 20:20 and even 22:21 for the team of coach Nikola Grbic. However, there were moments such as with the 22:21 for Poland, when the world champions – a known way – came out of gigantic oppression.
