The median salary of PLN 7,690.82 gross means that in the second month of 2026, half of the employees were paid remuneration not higher than this amount, and the other half received remuneration not lower. Let us recall that in January the median salary was PLN 7,447.16 gross, i.e. over PLN 243 less. This amount was then 20.4 percent. lower than the average monthly salary.
– In February 2026, the median gross monthly salary increased nominally by 3.3% compared to January 2026 and by 7.3% compared to February 2025. In the same period, the average monthly gross salary increased nominally by 6.6% compared to January 2026, and by 6.4% compared to February 2025 – calculates the Central Statistical Office.
The Office notes that the value of the median salary varied depending on gender. In the case of men it amounted to PLN 7,753.52 gross, while for women – PLN 7,631.04 gross.
Taking into account the size of the entity, the highest value of the median salary was recorded in entities employing 1,000 or more people – PLN 11,801.15 gross, and the lowest in entities employing 9 or fewer people – PLN 6,274.16 gross.
It is worth recalling that data on the median salary is an indicator that shows average real earnings in Poland better than data on the average salary in the national economy. In February 2026, it amounted to PLN 9,966.32 gross. As the Central Statistical Office notes, this is by 22.8 percent. more than the median gross monthly salary.
