Half of Poles earn above this amount. The Central Statistical Office reveals its cards
In September 2025, the median gross monthly wages in the national economy amounted to PLN 7,145.33 – the Central Statistical Office reported. That’s 17.4 percent. less than the amount of the average gross monthly salary.
– In September 2025, the median gross monthly salary in the national economy amounted to PLN 7,145.33 and was 17.4% lower than the average gross monthly salary in that month (PLN 8,649.13), the Central Statistical Office (GUS) announced on Wednesday.

The median salary of PLN 7,145 means that in September 2025, half of the employees were paid remuneration no higher than this amount, and the other half received remuneration no lower. Let us recall that in August the median salary was PLN 7,228, i.e. PLN 83 more. This amount was then 17.4 percent. lower than the average monthly salary (then PLN 8,827.87).
The Central Statistical Office emphasizes that the value of the median salary varied depending on gender. In the case of men it was PLN 7,400, while for women – PLN 6,956.10.
Taking into account the age of employees, the highest value of the median salary was recorded in the 45-54 age group – it amounted to PLN 7,440. The lowest value was recorded in the group of 24 years and younger – it amounted to PLN 5,816.90. In turn, according to the size of the entity, the highest value of the median salary was recorded in entities employing 1,000 or more people – PLN 8,423.40, and the lowest in entities employing 9 or fewer people – PLN 4,666.
It is worth recalling that data on the median salary is an indicator that shows average real earnings in Poland better than data on the average salary in the national economy. In September 2025, it amounted to PLN 8,649.13. As the Central Statistical Office notes, it is by 17.4%. more than the median gross monthly salary. The average salary among men was PLN 9,032.91 gross, and among women it was PLN 8,255.75.
