Great talent made the decision. He will join the American all-star team
Ksawery Masiuk is one of the greatest talents in Polish swimming. A Pole changes country to start cooperation with a famous coach. The new trainer led, among others, Michael Phelps.
Ksawery Masiuk set off for Paris as one of the greatest hopes of the Polish swimming team. Ultimately, the adventure in the capital of France ended in great disappointment, as he did not manage to get to any of the finals (in the 100 and 200 meters backstroke competition). A few weeks after those events, the Tarnów-born swimmer announced a decision that could significantly change his career.
Polish talent will join the team in the USA
Masiuk announced on Instagram that he will start studies at the University of Texas next year. The choice of the facility was important not from a scientific perspective, but from a sports perspective, because the Pole would join one of the best training programs in the United States, and perhaps in the world. The coach of the local swim team is Bob Bowman. In the world of this discipline, he is considered one of the best trainers in history. He co-created the greatest successes of Michael Phelps, the greatest swimmer in history and 23-time Olympic champion.
The Polish swimmer will combine studies with training to prepare him for the Olympic Games in Los Angeles. Leon Marchand, the star of the Paris competition, will train with him in the same team. The Frenchman won four golds in front of his home crowd.
“After much consideration, I have decided to enroll at the University of Texas in January 2025. I am truly excited about what we will accomplish together. I would like to thank my family, coaches and friends who have always supported me throughout my journey. I love you,” wrote Masiuk, born in 2004.
