The Volleyball Nations League will come to Poland again! PZPS has just announced that one of the men’s tournaments will be held at the Ergo Arena in Tricity.
We are talking about the dates of July 16-20, 2025, i.e. the third tournament in the group phase of the VNL men’s competition.
In Ergo Arena, apart from the hosts, you will also be able to see the national teams of China, Bulgaria, Iran, Cuba and France. Therefore, there will be a symbolic rematch of the Olympic final, as Poles will play against France – only this time in front of their own audience.
VNL: Poland organizes the volleyball tournament in Ergo Arena
It is worth recalling that in the 2024 edition, the Polish national team hosted the direct final battle of the Nations League. The place of the competition was the Atlas Arena in Łódź. Ultimately, the Poles won bronze medals shortly before the Olympic tournament. In the semi-finals, coach Nikola Grbic’s team lost to France after a very exciting match, after a tie-break with a 16:18 advantage.
In the bronze medal match in Łódź, the Polish team easily defeated Slovenia 3-0. In the final at the Atlas Arena, the French were the best, beating the revelation of VNL 2024 – Japan – winning in four sets.
As for Ergo Arena, the Polish national team has very good memories from the 2023 edition. Then the Poles won their first gold medal in the history of the Nations League. The White and Reds defeated the Americans in the final, and Łukasz Kaczmarek, who replaced the injured Bartosz Kurek, played a great game. It was a fantastic year for Polish men’s volleyball, additionally crowned with gold at the European Championships and Olympic qualification.
