Great news for Iga Świątek’s fans. Last year’s situation will not repeat itself
Fans are already counting down the days until Iga Świątek returns to professional courts. We learned the timetable for WTA Finals matches. Poles can be satisfied.
Iga Świątek last played an official match on September 5, when she lost to Jessica Pegula in the quarterfinals of the US Open. Later, the Pole gradually withdrew from subsequent tournaments, and at the beginning of October she announced that she would have a new coach. Her nearly three-year collaboration with Tomasz Wiktorowski ended. His replacement was the Belgian Wim Fissette, who in the past had led his players to six victories in Grand Slam events. And it is under his supervision that Świątek is preparing for the WTA Finals.

A test for Świątek
Many fans can’t wait for Świątek to return to the court. The Pole faces her first serious test under the new coach. Just like in the previous season, the Raszyn player will compete in the WTA Finals as the second player in the WTA ranking.
On October 21, Świątek was overtaken by Aryna Sabalenka in the world ranking. Before the start of the event in Riyadh, the Belarusian will most likely have a 1,046-point advantage over the Polish tennis player.
