The Polish national volleyball team returns to the game. Nikola Grbic’s players have a difficult and demanding season ahead of them. Here is our team’s schedule.

This year’s PlusLiga season is quickly coming to an end. Play-offs are currently underway to determine the new Polish champion. There are only four teams left in the fight for the title: PGE Projekt Warszawa, Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie, Asseco Resovia and Bogdanka LUK Lublin.

Moreover, the capital’s PGE Projekt Warszawa and the Jurassic Knights led by Michał Winiarski will compete in the final tournament of the Champions League, which will be played on May 16-17 in Turin.

However, this does not mean the end of volleyball emotions. The Polish national team is getting ready to play.

The Polish national team starts the game. A strong start to the season

Nikola Grbic’s players will open the national team season with a friendly tournament with the participation of demanding rivals. Poles will start the competition On May 20, a clash with Serbia in Sosnowiec. Then they will move to Katowice, where they will play with Ukraine (May 22) and Bulgaria (May 23). This will be the first test of the Poles’ form before further challenges.

When will the Polish national volleyball team play in 2026?

The priority for the team led by Nikola Grbic is this year European Championships. The tournament will be held in four countries: Bulgaria, Finland, Romania and Italy. The victory means direct advancement to the Olympic Games, which only raises the profile of the competition.

The Poles will play the following matches in the group phase:

  • September 10, 4:00 p.m.: Poland – Portugal

  • September 12, 4:00 p.m.: Poland – Israel

  • September 13, 7:00 p.m.: Poland – North Macedonia

  • September 15, 7:00 p.m.: Poland – Ukraine

  • September 16, 7:00 p.m.: Poland – Bulgaria

Volleyball Nations League 2026. Schedule. When do Poles play?

However, before the time comes to fight for the European Championship, the white and red team will play in the Nations League. The competition will start on June 8 and will last until the beginning of August, with the final scheduled in Ningbo, China (July 29 – August 2).

Poland will enter the competition as the defending champion. In the previous edition, the team dominated the final phase, not losing a single set in the decisive matches.

This is what this year’s schedule looks like:

  • To start with, the Polish national team will face in China against:

    • Kuba (June 10)

    • Slovenia (June 11)

    • Japan (June 12)

    • Ukraine (June 14)

  • during the next tournament in Gliwice, the rivals of the White and Reds will be:

    • Belgium (June 24)

    • Türkiye (June 25)

    • Germany (June 27)

    • Argentina (June 28)

  • then the team will have to fight in the USA against:

    • Bulgaria (July 15)

    • Brazil and France (July 18)

    • USA (July 20)

This will be the last test for Poles before the European Championships XXIII Hubert Jerzy Wagner Memorial, which will take place on August 28–30, 2026 at TAURON Arena Kraków.
