Grbić surprised the staff at the World Championships. So explains his decision

The World Championships in the Philippines are the most important tournament for Polish volleyball players this season. Nikola Grbic’s players are considered favorites for the medal.

The representation will start competition in group B. The first rivals of the white and red will be the staff Romania (September 13). Two days later, Poles will face Qatar (September 15). At the end of the group stage, the match will be played with the Netherlands (September 17).

If the team of Grbcia is promoted to the 1/8 finals, which seems almost certain, then it will go to one of the teams from the G group, which included Libya, Canada, Türkiye and Japan.

Over two weeks before the tournament, Nikola Grobi decided to reveal the cards and announce the names of those who will fight for the medals of the world championships. According to the regulations, only 14 volleyballers may include. So it was clear that the coach would have to delete four players who trained during the last grouping in Zakopane.

In mid -August Nikola Grbić said that the attacker Bartosz Bołądź and Middle Mateusz Poręba would not participate in further preparations. Among those who had to say goodbye to their dreams of participating in the world championships, Mateusz Czunkiewicz – Libero, who joined the groupings in connection with Maksymilian Granieczny’s health problems.

The biggest unknown was on which the host will be put up by the coach – Bartosz Bednorz or Artur Szalpuk. Due to Norbert Huber’s health problems, a script was also considered in which five hosts and three middle ones would fly to the Philippines.

Eventually, Bartosz Bednorz was missing among the appointed. – Unfortunately, Bartosz had a lot of health problems. I know that it is very difficult for him, because the second time in a row falls at the very end before the most important tournament. I think that at this point Artur Szalpuk can give the team more – explained Nikola Grbić.

The trainer emphasized that “in his opinion Bednorz is not at such a level of form that can help the representation.” – I would like to thank Bartek because he did what he could. He tried to get back in shape all the time. That’s why I made a decision now. Bednorz could play one good friendly match, and I have to look through the prism of the whole season – he added.

Before the representatives go to the World Championships, they will play several friendly matches.
