Government reconstruction. An important ministry will disappear?

Planned changes in the government may result in the creation of economic superresort – according to the arrangements of Money.pl. The Ministry of Funds and Regional Policy may fall victim to the reconstruction.
The passing week was marked by discussion on the reconstruction of the government. It began with the Monday interview of Deputy Prime Minister Krzysztof Gawkowski for Radio ZET, where the politician admitted that after the presidential election there would be deeper changes in the Council of Ministers. A day later, Prime Minister Donald Tusk confirmed this, announcing that we would have “one of the smallest governments in Europe”.
Will the economic superresort create?
This means the liquidation of individual ministries. Money.pl’s findings show that economic superresport may be created. There are several variants. The first assumes the merger of the Ministry of Development and Technology with the Ministry of Infrastructure. The portal points out that it could be done here without coalition tensions, because these ministries are managed by PSL politicians. The second variant is potentially more conflict, because it assumes a merger of the Ministry of Development with the Ministry of Funds and Regional Policy. Here – as the website writes – representatives of both ministries would not have a problem with this, but only if they will take over the second department, and not that they will be taken over themselves.
Another variant assumes the liquidation of the Ministry of Funds and Regional Policy and including it in either the Ministry of Development or the Ministry of Finance. The representative of the fund’s ministry cited by the portal points out that its liquidation “on the last simple implementation of the KPO would not, to put it mildly, with a reasonable idea. The possible inclusion of this ministry in the Ministry of Finance may be skeptical of the European Commission.
It seems certain that the reconstruction will cover the Ministry of Industry. The interlocutors of the Coalition Portal admit that the ministry located in Katowice is a “unsuccessful experiment”. The creation of the Ministry of Energy Transformation based on ministries: industry, climate, but also state assets is indicated as one of the possible solutions.
Bold changes of Miller
– The problem of this government is that it is too big. There are 26 ministers there. It was 16 with me. The prime minister will have very difficult. The bosses of political parties will speak and say: why yes, or maybe otherwise, why at all? The more partners, the worse -Leszek Miller, Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland in 2001-2004, assessed on Radio ZET.
Over 20 years ago, Miller decided to boldly reconstruct his office by connecting the Ministry of Economy with the Ministry of Labor. It was headed by the current head of the second ministry Jerzy Hausner. The then prime minister had a comfortable situation because SLD ruled “only” with one coalition partner, which was the PSL, and the changes did not hit representatives of the people. When the time of the first PiS rule came after the left office’s departure, work and economy departments were redefined. Structural changes in the government (such as the inclusion of the ministry of funds in the Ministry of Finance for the “second PiS”) proved to be temporary.
