Google focuses on AI and training. Poles can gain an important advantage on the labor market
Google launches new AI initiative for Europe. In Poland, employees, students and companies can get a chance to develop competences.
Google has announced a new initiative to support people and companies across Europe in acquiring the skills they need to use artificial intelligence in work and business. As stated in the press release, as part of the project, the company will allocate USD 30 million to the European AI Opportunity Fund run by Google.org. At the same time, access to the Google AI Professional Certificate is to be expanded.
New Google initiative
The new initiative is called “AI Works for Europe”. Google implements it in cooperation with the public sector, non-governmental organizations, employers and universities. The aim of the program is to support European employees and students in acquiring key AI competences that will help them find their way in the new economy.
As noted in the announcement, the first commitment under “AI Works for Europe” includes support of USD 30 million for the European Google.org AI Opportunity Fund. In addition, new educational resources will be added to help employees develop basic skills related to artificial intelligence. This means that the project is to combine financing with specific tools for learning and practical development.
In Poland, Google’s activities in the area of developing AI competencies focus on the “Skills of Tomorrow” program. The latest version of this project, “Skills of Tomorrow: AI”, is entirely devoted to the practical use of artificial intelligence in work and business. It is at this level that Google’s new strategy may have direct significance for Polish employees and entrepreneurs.
The scale of interest in similar initiatives is already very large. As indicated, over 110,000 people registered in the last two editions of the program. people. The program is addressed to owners and employees of small and medium-sized companies, specialists from various industries, as well as to people who want to increase their competitiveness on the labor market. This shows that the development of AI-related competences is no longer a topic only for the technology industry and covers an increasingly wider group of market participants.
New certificate
Google also announced that it will release a new Google AI Professional Certificate in the coming months. It is intended to help employees and companies acquire practical skills in using AI tools. This means that support will not be limited only to general educational materials, but will also include a more systematic path to acquiring competences.
The announcement drew attention to the results of IPSOS research. They show that one of the key competences in the era of artificial intelligence is the so-called AI literacy. It’s about the ability to understand how AI works, critically evaluate the results obtained, and make conscious decisions using these tools. The program is intended to be practical and support people working in industries that are already undergoing technological transformation. The goal is to develop skills that are actually expected by employers.
Google’s new initiative shows that the development of AI competences is to be treated as an important element of preparing employees and companies for changes in the market. In Poland, this may mean further opportunities to learn, acquire practical qualifications and strengthen your professional position at a time of increasingly rapid technological transformation.
