Good news for electricity recipients. The last step remained
The Sejm voted amendments to the so -called windmill law, which assumes, among others freezing of electricity prices by the end of this year. The fate of the act will be decided by the new President Karol Nawrocki.
On Tuesday, the Sejm voted most of the Senate amendments to the amendment to the so -called windmill act. The key element of the amendment is the extension of freezing electricity prices for households for the last Kawartal this year.
We would like to remind you that under the existing regulations, the recipient of electricity in households may benefit from a frozen price at the level of PLN 500 per MWH net until the end of September.
In the field of wind farms, the key change is the departure from the so -called Principles 10h, in force since 2016. The new regulations introduce a minimum distance of 500 m between new wind turbines and residential buildings – currently this limit is 700 m.
Freezing of electricity prices by the end of the year. What will the new president do?
The fate of the amendment will be decided by the new President Karol Nawrocki. When at the end of June the Sejm first passed the law, President Andrzej Duda did not hide the irritation that the record regarding the extension of freezing energy prices was in the windmill act. The outgoing president stated that in this way the government was trying to force him to sign the law.
– I understand that, unfortunately, the prime minister and his colleagues, by throwing such a amendment that is to protect Poles against increases in energy prices, simply tries to force me to sign on this act by putting me against the wall, but he must remember that I am already finishing my second term – said the president.
What will the successor of Andrzej Duda do? The minister of climate and the environment counts on the signature of Karol Nawrocki. – I will be surprised if the president vetos the law guaranteeing lower energy prices. It is an act that answers the question of how we want to fight not only with the effects of the energy crisis, but also with its causes. It indicates how we want to change Polish energy so that energy prices are lower. And protects local communities, providing annually up to PLN 20,000 for those residents who are closest to the wind farm -Paulina Henning-Kloska said in an interview with Money.pl.
– If Law and Justice continues to block the cheapest energy source in the country, the energy transformation process will be slower. Citizens expect responsibility and effective solution to secure households and the economy in acceptable energy prices. During the election campaign, the president promised that he would fight to reduce energy prices. This will be the first test for him She added.
