Gingerbread, river and monuments. This city in Europe resembles Toruń

It has a river, beautiful monuments and is the capital of gingerbread. These are just a few elements that make the Czech city compared to Polish Toruń. I am talking about Pardubice located near the Polish border.
Thinking about traveling to the Czech Republic, we often have Prague, Brno and Ostrava. This country is also associated with ski resorts, which we are happy to visit during the winter holidays. Not everyone knows that we will also find less popular, and very interesting attractions. One of these is, even devilish heads. Pardubice compared to Toruń also has a lot to offer.
“Czech Toruń” hides attractions
Pardubice can be found in the middle of the Czech Republic at the intersection of the Elbe and Hrarudima rivers. They are located in a beautiful area in the field of the Połabska Lowland with an average height of 225 m above sea level, interestingly, like Toruń, it is famous for gingerbread. The decorated ones play the greatest importance – they even have their museum and holiday. On this day, the ceremony takes place in the courtyard of the local castle, and there are plenty of locals and tourists.
Still, as many people do not come there as to the Czech capital. Few Poles realize that Pardubice delight with monuments, delicious cuisine and are less crowded or loud than the party Prague. It does not end with the gingerbread itself, horses are also a symbol of this place. In the city for over 130 years a great Pardubicka, i.e. the famous horseback race, has been played.
Pardubice. What is worth seeing?
In Pardubice you can spend a day, weekend or stay longer. The sightseeing plan should be adapted to your own abilities and interests. One of the most beautiful and most important points worth attention is the green gate tower, from which you can admire the panorama of the city. The main city square also makes an impression on visitors, at which the historic town hall building rises. There is no shortage of restaurants, bars, shops and beautiful tenement houses in the area. It is also worth seeing the historic church of St. Bartłomiej with a characteristic soaring tower, castle or Eastern Museum.
It is worth remembering that the city will have a completely different climate depending on the season in which we will come there. For example, in winter we will get to the Christmas market. It will be different when we appear in October at the Gingerbread Day or on horse races.
Once you decide to travel, remember that the city is located near Poland. Close will have, among others Residents of Wrocław – about 3 hours by car. This can be a good proposition for a long weekend abroad.
