Giant pike caught. The 13-year-old set a new world record
A young angler, only 13 years old, set a new world record. How long was the giant pike she caught?
Madilyn Davis – a resident of Gilbert (Arizona) – went with her father to a commercial water reservoir in Wisconsin at the beginning of July this year. She caught a muskie there (muskellunge – Esox masquinongy, a freshwater fish from the Esocidae family).
It turned out to be a record-long pike!
How much did she measure?
The muskie that the 13-year-old pulled from the water measured nearly 52 inches (132 centimeters). This was enough to announce a new junior record (it was officially confirmed by the International Game Fish Association, IGFA).
American media noted that muskellunge specimens usually grow to approximately 37 inches (94 centimeters).
Recently, we reported on the record broken by Ravenswood resident Tyler Harmon. He caught a giant blue catfish (Ictalurus furcatus) weighing nearly 73 pounds (almost 33 kilograms) in the Ohio River.
This is a new West Virginia state record.
Anglers from the USA are not idle!
However, these are not the only records worth knowing about. These are the legendary feats that have been established throughout the United States. To this day, no one has been able to top it, even though many years have passed.
