Giant money for CPK. The company wants a billion from the EU

CPK applies for over PLN 1 billion in EU funding for key rail and road projects. The decision will be made in the summer of 2025.
The Central Communication Port (CPK) has submitted an application for over PLN 1 billion in funding from the European Union for three key infrastructure projects. Applications were approved by the Ministry of Infrastructure and the Ministry of Funds and Regional Policy, and the decision of the European Commission will be made in the summer of 2025.
CPK has already obtained PLN 500 million from EU funds for similar investments, which confirms the importance of projects implemented under the “Connecting Europe” program.
Railway projects under the magnifying glass
The largest application concerns the construction of the Łódź Fabryczna – Łódź Retkinia section, where it is planned to build a high speed tunnel (KDP). The amount of co -financing here is PLN 845.5 million. The investment includes the preparation of the area, tunnel drilling and finishing five chambers, including Retkinia chambers.
The second project is related to the development of documentation for the CPK railway junction. The amount requested here is PLN 75.4 million.
The third undertaking includes the preparation of project documentation for the Katowice-State border, which is part of the TEN-T network. The cost of this application is PLN 79.1 million.
Race for EU money
“Our projects will compete with the conclusions of other Member States. Every support from the EU will be very important to us, “comments Filip Czernicki, president of CPK.
Co -financing from the CEF Transport program will allow a large -scale investment. Projects are part of the development of TEN-T infrastructure, including Railway transport and multimodal transhipment terminals.
What already known?
The total value of applications is PLN 1.18 billion, including a billion zlotys of potential funding. Investments also include the expansion of railway nodes, the construction of travelers and animal crossings. It is expected that the first sections of the route will be completed in 2026, and the whole – a year later.
The CPK project is one of the largest infrastructure investments in Poland, and its implementation will require cooperation with EU institutions and obtaining funds for continuing work.
