Gen. Komornicki appeals to President Nawrocki: It’s time to define the Polish raison d’etat!

Gen. Komornicki z apelem do prezydenta Nawrockiego

General Leon Komornicki, former deputy chief of the General Staff of the Polish Army, in an interview on the YouTube channel “Moments” appeals to President Karol Nawrocki. He emphasizes that the president should act as a consolidator of the nation and guardian of Polish sovereignty.

General Komornicki clearly defines the Polish raison d’etat: “The reason for the state is one. It is indisputable. (…) This is peace, peaceful development and survival of the Polish nation. And this should be the political goal of the security strategy.” He emphasizes that the national security strategy should be subordinated to these purposes, not the interests of other countries, including the United States. He criticizes the current lack of precise strategy: “For 5 years this is an expression of exceptional insubordination. (…) This is the shameful of the greatest, the greatest of it. Everyone goes to the agenda.”

Whole conversation:

Polish raison d’etat? Peace, development and sovereignty

Komornicki warns against addiction to the American strategy, which leads to the loss of strategic sovereignty: “by accepting an American strategy, i.e. waging a war with Russia, or repelling this Russian aggression through escalation ordinances according to their goals, we become a satellite state in achieving their political goals, not our interests.” He urges Poland to convince allies that “our political goals just defined national security strategies in the state defense system are the most important, crucial, they are fundamental, therefore also our allies.”

Divisions in Poland. The president must unite the nation

The general concerns with anxiously to deepening divisions in Polish society: “This division deepens, because even those who stood in the presidential election focused on the main attention to it, they have axes in their hands, so that this division still cut this division to deepen it. They did nothing to cover this division.” He indicates that the president should act beyond the divisions: “The president is to be the head of state, (…) he is to guard this and beat the paws (…) those politicians who devote everything, the greatest holiness in order to stay in power at all costs and this power to gain at all costs, even at the expense of the nation, its security.”

Komornicki emphasizes that in the information era divisions are even more visible: “We live in the information era, and this information age through infrastructure and the information structure, which does not integrate, but divides, shakes these divisions into Poland East, or Poland West, or this Polish and left Poland, these pages are still sought after.”

He calls on President Nawrocki to consolidate the nation around the strategic goals: “The main effort of the head of state is to be consolidated regardless of the concern for the sovereignty of the Independence of the Republic of Poland expressed in the fact that we pursue our strategic goals.”

Poland in NATO: Partner, not the United States satellite

Komornicki emphasizes that Poland should not be the “satellite” of the United States, but an equivalent partner in NATO: “We did not proceed to NATO to participate in the reefs and accompany Americans or other countries in expeditionary wars and confirm their credibility there. (…) allies with these sentiments of our credibility do not guide, but their interests.”

He proposes a new formula of cooperation within NATO, based on the countries of the eastern flank: “If it would be based on the community of threats from Russia to build a joint strategy, (…) and convince to this allies of Western key key, i.e. France, Germany, Great Britain, that they will subordinate to these national interests or political goals to defend the eastern flank.”

The general indicates the need to build defense self -sufficiency: “The most reliable is what we have, what we have, what force, what a background, what a background, what intellectual potential, the abilities of the army, the readiness of this army and so on and on the awareness of society ready to devote themselves to defend the homeland.” He emphasizes that Poland must be strong to gain the support of allies: “Help and not weak helps. Poor is abandoned.”

Appeal to President Nawrocki

General Komornicki expresses the hope that President Nawrocki will become a real leader: “The strength of the president, his surroundings lies in the fact that he is fighting Polish interests and can win and then he will go down in history. And if not, he will be one of many who simply sold Polish sovereignty.” He calls to create a strategy that will ensure peace and sovereignty: “The president represents not himself, is not an extension of the United States strategy or policy, but represents the Polish nation. (…) he serves the nation and is defined what to do as a servant of the nation and fight for it, guarantee sovereignty and raison d’etat.”
