Geberit weźmie udział w 14. PLGBC Green Building Summit

PLGBC Green Building Summit is one of the most important international events dedicated to sustainable construction, architecture and the real estate market. The next, fourteenth edition of the conference will be held on October 3-4 this year. at the Sound Garden Hotel in Warsaw. The Geberit company, which treats sustainable development as an important element of its business strategy, will also be present. One of the speakers will be Adrian Burzyk, director of the Geberit Polska Projects and Technologies department, and the Geberit brand itself has joined the group of Partners Supporting the event.

For over a dozen years, PLGBC Green Building Summit has been creating a platform for establishing contacts and building relationships between entities operating in the green building area. It promotes good and proven practices, sets current trends in the industry, inspires and improves solutions for sustainable construction.

Think about REgeneration

This year’s edition of the PLGBC Green Building Summit is under the slogan “Think about (Re)generation”. It emphasizes the need to meet current environmental, technological and civilizational challenges. REgeneration in construction is to become a tool for creating a better future by minimizing the negative impact of human activity on the environment, but also by strengthening local communities.

On the first day of the 14th PLGBC Green Building Summit, there will be 4 thematic sessions:

  • Rising to the Challenge: Climate Change Solutions: a session on a sustainable future;
  • Building Biodiversity: a session describing the role of greenery in shaping a modern and friendly urban space;
  • Reuse Revolution: a session presenting best practices and innovative solutions for circular construction;
  • Exploring Health, Wellbeing, and Life Satisfaction: session analyzing the relationship between shaping urban space and the sense of social well-being.

On the second day of the conference, October 4 this year, as part of the international project “Free of Carbon Architecture” (FoCA), an educational and computational platform for estimating the carbon footprint of a building will be presented.

Geberit for sustainable development

On the first day of the 14th PLGBC Green Building Summit (October 3 this year) as part of the thematic session titled “Rising to the Challenge. Climate Change Solutions” will be performed by Adrian Burzyk, director of the Projects and Technologies department at Geberit Polska.

It will present innovative technologies used in construction not only because of their utility values, but also because of their environmental friendliness. The “heroes” of the presentation “Innovative Geberit systems in The Valley and The Lock House projects” will be unique examples of contemporary Amsterdam architecture that combine zero emission with technologically advanced solutions. Amsterdam’s The Valley is a model example of plus-energy buildings that generate more energy than they consume from the outside. Their energy efficiency includes, among others: roof-mounted photovoltaic systems, underfloor heating and triple glazing. The public part of the building complex received the prestigious “BREEAM-NL Excellent” certificate, to which Geberit also contributed by providing this investment with efficient water supply and effective sewage disposal.

The Lock House in Amsterdam also fits perfectly into the concept of sustainable development, as it uses both the latest technological achievements (e.g. solar panels) and the benefits of nature (vegetation).

The Geberit brand has not only been actively participating in events promoting the idea of sustainable development for years, but also implements it in all areas of its activity, becoming a leader in sustainable development in the sanitary industry. It is worth mentioning that in the 1990s it developed the first environmental strategy, and since 2012 it has been monitoring its carbon footprint. Moreover, since 2007, the company has been developing all its products in accordance with the Eco-design principle. It is therefore not surprising that a representative of the Geberit brand will be present at the 14th PLGBC Green Building Summit, who will be able to share the company’s experience during his speech.
