Innovative roller grass. An ecological solution for gardeners
Traditional sowing of grass seeds takes time, thorough soil preparation and intensive care. In turn, ready grass in a roll gives a quick effect, but it is expensive and difficult to install. A modern, biodegradable seed mat combines the advantages of both these methods. The non -woven fabric contains carefully selected grass seeds, which are protected from rinsing, eating by birds and weed competition. What’s more, it effectively repels moles.
Simple application and quick effects
The biodegradable mat allows for a quick and convenient setting of the lawn. After preparing the soil, it is enough to develop, attach and water it. Thanks to the innovative structure, the non -woven fabric keeps the seeds on the spot up to 24 months, which guarantees even grass growth without the need for salt. In addition, it maintains moisture for a long time, so watering should be moderate.
Ecology and durability in one
The product responds to the growing demand for ecological solutions in the gardening industry. The non -woven fabric was made of a polylactide (Pla) obtained from corn starch. It is fully biodegradable and does not contain microplastics, which distinguishes it from other seed mats, e.g. those based on cellulose.

– Our goal was to create a solution that will not only facilitate the installation of the lawn, but also will be environmentally friendly. Thanks to the biodegradable structure, the mat leaves no trace, and at the same time provides even germination and grass growth. This proposal works both in home gardens, where every detail is important, as well as in public spaces, such as parks, squares and difficult to use slopes and slopes, where the speed of application and lawn durability are crucial – says Grzegorz Putynkowski, president of the Center for Research and Development of Technology for Industry.

Spring is a time of intensive garden work. Polish technology of grass from a roller in biodegradable fabric can become a new standard in establishing lawns not only in Poland, but also on foreign markets. The Center for Research and Technology Development for Industry has been operating since 2013 as an independent, commercial center of R&D. It employs several dozen specialists, and the total value of implemented projects exceeds PLN 248 million.
