One of the Tiktok travel influencers shared an interesting way to save money when booking flights. Raychel, who shares the most interesting travel news with her followers on social media, talked about the unique offer of the Icelandic airline Icelandair, which offers its customers a free stopover in Reykjavík on overseas flights. What does it look like in practice? All we need to do is book a flight to the United States from one of dozens of European cities and choose the option of a free stopover in the capital of Iceland. We can even modify its length from one to a maximum of seven nights. This way we will not pay any additional aviation taxes and we will see two countries for the price of one. Unfortunately, for now Icelandair does not offer direct flights from Poland. However, the carrier’s website offers the option of Krakow, from which we can fly to Reykjavík with a transfer in Helsinki.

Travel with a stopover is a recipe for cheaper holidays

Although Icelandair’s offer is attractive, it certainly will not mean that you will not have to pay a penny for your stay. Hotel reservations, meals and on-site attractions remain the responsibility of the airline client. However, carriers around the world are increasingly offering even more profitable promotions to passengers. A similar project was initiated, for example, by Emirates, which paid its passengers for accommodation in a luxury hotel in Dubai during the transfer.
