Former Polish national team coach! I am talking about sexual offenses

The whole thing is shocking. Andrzej P. in his cycling career passed through all levels of training – from a player through the national team coach, a professional group manager – to the sports director of the Polish Cycling Association. As a trainer, P. prepared players and players for the Olympic Games: Sydney 2000, Athens 2004, Beijing 2008 and London 2012.

Andrzej P. convicted by a final judgment! It was a former coach of the Polish national team

Information on a final judgment was provided by, among others Artur Brzozowski, journalist of Gazeta Wyborcza, its Wrocław branch. Initially, P. was sentenced to 4.5 years in prison by the District Court in Legnica. The final, however, the Supreme Court decided in 2023 to reconsider the case.

P. threatened up to 12 years imprisonment. The former Polish team coach did not plead guilty. Interestingly, the whole thing came to light on the occasion of the audit, conducted in the Polish Cycling Association, which has gigantic problems.

-The accusation concerns crimes of rape by bringing victims of violence and a trick involving the administration of a sleeping agent to sexual intercourse, as well as the violence of one of the victims to perform another sexual act and a crime of attempted rape-admitted in an interview with “GW” Agnieszka Zabłocka-Konopka, spokeswoman for the Warsaw prosecutor’s office.

Two cycling players and one woman, present at one of the representative groups, were injured.

Finally, P. was found guilty by the Wrocław Court of Appeal. The man was sentenced to 2.5 years of absolute prison, as we read – “bringing another person to sexual intercourse with violence, unlawful threat, trick or in a different way despite the lack of his consent.”

Interestingly, in 2013 P. was awarded by the Polish Olympic Committee with the award for … all work with women. It was granted specifically by the Women’s Sports Committee at the PKol.
