Sopot is on the list of European holiday destinations recommended by the British daily “The Independent”. The authors of the list indicated that the Polish resort may be an attractive alternative to the overheated regions of the south of the continent.

The list prepared by “The Independent” included only one Polish resort. According to the authors of the publication, Sopot offers everything that tourists expect from a summer holiday – wide beaches, a rich gastronomic base, numerous cafes and restaurants and a unique atmosphere of a seaside city.
The article also draws attention to one of the most recognizable places in the resort – the Sopot pier, considered the longest wooden pier in Europe.
More and more tourists are escaping the heat
British journalists emphasize that destinations offering a milder climate are becoming increasingly popular. For many people, temperatures exceeding 35 or even 40 degrees Celsius, which are increasingly common in southern Europe, are no longer an advantage.
In this context, Sopot was presented as a place that allows you to avoid the greatest heat and at the same time provide a full-fledged holiday by the sea.
Not just the beach. The entire Tricity is an asset
The authors of the publication also drew attention to the location of the resort. Sopot is located in the very center of the Tricity, so tourists can easily enjoy the attractions of Gdańsk and Gdynia.
Good transport connections, including the Fast Agglomeration Railway, mean that exploring the region does not require a car. This is an additional argument for foreign guests planning a several-day stay on the Baltic Sea.

Although many Polish tourists complain about the rising costs of seaside holidays, from the British perspective, Sopot is still a relatively affordable destination. According to “The Independent”, the favorable cost-quality ratio is one of the reasons why Poland is increasingly appearing on the holiday wish lists of foreign tourists.
