Flixbus opens new connection to Finland. This destination will be a hit
There is no more magical place in December than Santa Claus Village in Rovaniemi. Green buses will soon take you there directly from Poland.
Flixbus entered the Finnish market in July 2023, with a connection from Warsaw to Vaasa. Tourists were not discouraged by the 20-hour drive to the destination. Coaches left Poland full, and the route was hailed as a new hit.
Now green buses will take Poles to 13 new stops in Finland, including the flagship attraction of Lapland.
From Poland to Finland by bus. Visit to Santa Claus village
The hit may be the northernmost stop – the city of Rovaniemi. Santa Claus Village is just 8 km away. Passengers from Poland will reach Rovaniemi directly from Krakow, Kielce, Białystok or Warsaw. Tickets are already on sale.
For a pre-holiday trip on the Warsaw-Rovaniemi route in December, we will pay PLN 733. Note that the travel time to the destination is over 33 hours! There is also a more expensive option with a transfer at the bus station in Riga. A return ticket Rovaniemi-Warsaw costs PLN 1,058. The prices are of course much more attractive the further away from Christmas.
Although such a long bus journey is not for everyone, there is certainly no shortage of people willing to go this route. There is no direct flight from Poland to Rovaniemi. Flight prices in the pre-Christmas period start at PLN 1,900. You can save money by flying to Helsinki (approx. PLN 1,000) and from there to Rovaniemi by train. The cost of a return ticket is around EUR 100.
Winter attractions in Rovaniemi
It’s hard to imagine a more festive atmosphere than here. “Despite the commercialism, the atmosphere in the village has its own unique charm. After passing through the door to St. Nicholas’ house, you walk through a mysterious corridor, pass St. Nicholas’ office, where you read letters from all over the world, and a gallery of famous people who have visited the village. At the end, a dream meeting with St. Nicholas awaits. You can record a film with him or take a photo with him, which is taken by elves,” wrote Agnieszka Kaszuba for “Wprost”.
This is not the end of the novelties offered by Flixbus. The carrier also boasts direct connections with Germany and the possibility of buying a bus and ferry ride on one ticket.
