Flights suddenly disappeared from the system. The popular connection will return only in spring
LOT has changed its plans regarding one of its foreign routes. Direct flights, which were supposed to return in August, disappeared from the schedule for many months.
LOT Polish Airlines has again postponed the return of direct flights from Warsaw to Riyadh. The connection has been suspended since July 16 and was initially supposed to be resumed on August 15. Later, the carrier changed the date to August 30, but this plan was ultimately not implemented. “In the LOT reservation system it is no longer possible to purchase tickets for direct flights from Warsaw to Riyadh,” writes Rynek Lotniczy.
Riyadh from Warsaw only in 2027
Passengers hoping for the resumption of the direct connection at the end of the holidays will have to be patient. After another update of the booking system, tickets for the Warsaw – Riyadh route are available only from April 8, 2027. This means that cruises will not return either at the end of the summer season or in the next winter season.
Previously, LOT changed the date of resuming the connection several times. Initially, the break was supposed to last less than a month, but later it was extended until the end of August. Now everything indicates that the suspension will last almost nine months in total. From October 26, passengers will be able to buy tickets for a trip to Riyadh with a transfer, carried out in cooperation with flydubai after the planned return of LOT to the Dubai route.

However, a change in plans does not necessarily mean the Polish carrier will completely withdraw from the Saudi market. At the end of July, the Polish ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Robert Rostek, emphasized in an interview with Rynek Lotniczy that the decision to suspend flights results from safety issues and applicable recommendations, and not from lack of interest in this direction. Interestingly, the lack of LOT flights does not mean the complete disappearance of direct connections between Poland and Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabian airlines flynas still serves the Riyadh-Kraków route. “They are not bound by the recommendations of the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA),” we read.
