Fewer flights from Poland to a popular city. This is where the cuts will come in
There will be fewer air connections from Poland to the capital of Great Britain. Already in the fall we will notice the changes announced by the low-cost carrier.
Some customers of the Hungarian airline Wizz Air will lose. They decided to make connections based on, among other things, affordable ticket prices. From September 8, the carrier will introduce cuts to flights from Krakow to London Gatwick. We will find two connections less than usual. It will be like this for a certain period of time.
Wizz Air cuts connections from Krakow
The change is already visible in the booking system – we will not fly Wizz Air from Krakow to London on Tuesdays and Wednesdays until September 30. Instead of the previous seven courses, there will be five, but the network’s announcement shows that everything will return to normal in October. If the current timetable is not enough for you, you can still use easyJet, which also operates flights to Gatwick.
This is not the first time the Hungarian airline has changed its connections to London. At the beginning of the summer season in 2026, connections from the capital of Małopolska to London Luton were cut. From the same airport, Wizz Air will suspend flights to Sofia, Nice, Stavanger and Genoa in winter.
Poles will lose other flights for longer
When it comes to Wizz Air’s plans in June 2026, we informed, among others, that the airline is planning, among other things, close its base in Serbia. From Poland, it intends to reduce the connection from Katowice to Madrid – although it was supposed to be available by the end of the year, it will disappear on October 23. The same will apply to trips to Brindisi. In addition, flights to Athens and Billlund will temporarily disappear.
There will also be lower frequency of Wizz Air connections from the Modlin airport, among others. to Paphos, Palermo or Chisinau and from Gdańsk – in winter we will not reach, among others, to Nice, Athens or Aberdeen. Trips to Stockholm and Vilnius will also take place less frequently. NIcea will also disappear from Wrocław for the winter, as well as Kutaisi.
Moreover, the competitor, Ryanair, is planning cuts. He announced, among others: taking planes from Belgium, mainly due to the new fee that will come into force at the beginning of 2027. Bad news also concerns AirBaltic, which, shortly after positive announcements, is removing autumn connections from Polish cities to Gran Canaria.
