Robert Lewandowski

Is this the end of the common history of FC Barcelona and Robert Lewandowski? New, somewhat surprising information has just arrived regarding the Pole’s future.

Robert Lewandowski is a footballer who, being at the age of 38, can still choose from offers regarding his club future. What is certain? The Pole’s contract expires in June 2026.

Would FC Barcelona want to keep Lewandowski in their ranks for another season? Yes, but… And this is where the whole transfer soap opera begins, which has been going on for quite a few months.

FC Barcelona with decision regarding Robert Lewandowski. That’s the end of speculation!

In WPROST, we keep you updated on whether there has been any progress – both in the Pole’s negotiations with his current employer – and in a possible transfer to a place other than the capital of Catalonia.

Recently, there has been news including: indicating passivity on the part of the Spanish champions. Although there was information suggesting that Lewandowski had received an offer to extend his contract with Barca, in practice there was no offer. And such a turn of events would suggest that the Pole may redirect his energies not to his future in the ranks of the Pride of Catalonia, but to looking for solutions that will give him a place to play in the 2026/27 season.

Juventus is said to be very interested in acquiring the Pole. The Turin giant would see RL9 in Serie A as the solution to its offensive problems. Especially since Juve is close to securing a place in the Champions League. It is therefore important to have a goal-scoring striker both on the Apennine Peninsula and in the Champions League.

New news about Lewandowski appeared on Tuesday (i.e. April 28) straight from Catalonia.

According to Mundo Deportivo journalists, Barca has finally made an offer to Lewandowski. As previously reported, it is to include a significant reduction in earnings (up to 50 percent) and a different role than the Pole has played so far. Although this second issue is the biggest bone of contention in the negotiations. RL9 does not feel like a player who would be just a reserve player, especially considering the emerging interesting offers for the captain of the Polish national team.

The Pole’s decision, according to journalists from the Catalan sports daily, may be made next week. That is, literally a dozen or so days before the expiry of Lewandowski’s contract with Barca. In the case of “Lewy”, there are offers from Italy (apart from Juventus, also AC Milan) and the United States (Chicago Fire).
