Fatal forecasts for Poland. “There is less and less time for action, demographic winter is coming”

Czy depopulacja uderzy w nasze portfele?

Poland faces a historical opportunity to creatively use artificial intelligence to alleviate the inevitable effects of demographic winter. However, this will not happen alone.

Poland ages at an alarming rate. This is not only statistics or warning of concerned demographics – it is a hard reality that knocks on our door and affects each of us.

Less birth, extending average life expectancy, and the constant emigration of young, educated Poles in search of better perspectives abroad. These components draw a picture of the future before us, which, to put it mildly, is not optimistic.

Can we count on an unobvious ally in this unequal fight against demographic Tsunami? There is more and more louder and bolder about the potential that lies in artificial intelligence. Are advanced algorithms and self -eating machines able to cover the growing breaches in the healthcare system, become support for senior army and automate work where the hands (and heads) to work start dramatically missing?

The forecasts of the Central Statistical Office are like a sentence in time. The main scenario is expected to decrease up to 30.4 million people by 2060, and in a pessimistic scenario up to 26.7 million. People aged 65 and more will constitute about 30 percent. population, and their number will increase by 2.5 million compared to 2022. This means not only a gigantic burden for the pension system and healthcare, but also fundamental changes on the labor market and in the social structure.

Demographic challenges require a systemic approach and the use of the latest technologies. Artificial intelligence can be part of the solution, but we must realistically assess its possibilities and limitations.

A caregiver with an algorithm – like artificial intelligence, will revolutionize support for seniors

One of the most smoking and visible effects of the aging of society is the growing demand for long -term and medical care for the elderly.

Already today the health care system creaks at the seams, there are no specialist doctors, nurses and guardians, and queues for specialist benefits are unacceptable long.

This is where artificial intelligence (Si) can be a key support.
