Faster than by car and Pendolino. The train will reach the seaside resort

Pociąg Kolei Wielkopolskich

This holiday season, residents of Greater Poland will have another connection to the seaside. This train will reach Świnoujście even slightly faster than Pendolino.

Rynek Kolejowy informs about the launch of the new Koleje Wielkopolskie connection. During this year’s holidays, the regional carrier will again offer its passengers weekend connections to the Baltic Sea, but not to Kołobrzeg or Międzyzdroje, but to Świnoujście. A few days ago, Koleje Wielkopolskie prepared a rebus announcing a new direction.

An Elf train called “BANA NA LOFRY” will hit the tracks. “In the Poznań dialect, “bana” means train, while “lofry” can be understood as rest, relaxation and free time. In practice, “BANA NA LOFRY” is simply a train for holiday rest and a weekend adventure by the sea – explained Dariusz Kaszyński, KW spokesman, in an interview with the portal.

From Greater Poland to the sea

The industry portal points out that this is a competitive offer for traveling by car from Greater Poland to the seaside. Passengers will reach the health resort in Western Pomerania in less than 3 hours, while the journey via a toll motorway will take every 3 hours and 40 minutes or almost 4 hours by another route.

The train will run on holiday Saturdays and Sundays. Departure from Poznań is planned for 6:12, and arrival in Świnoujście at 9:03. The journey will take 2 hours and 51 minutes, 10 minutes faster than Pendolino. The way back will take a little longer. The train will depart from Świnoujście at 7:54 p.m. and reach the capital of Greater Poland at 10:32 p.m. – the train will “only” take 2 hours and 38 minutes in this direction.

Polregio will also launch extended trains to this resort.

Polregio to Kołobrzeg

The Bursztynek to Kołobrzeg train is not included in the summer timetable of KW. Residents of Greater Poland will reach this seaside resort by accelerated Polregio trains. These are Riwiera from Zielona Góra (in Poznań at 6:21) and Harpoon from Poznań at 8:01. The first one will reach Kołobrzeg in 3 hours. 43 minutes, the second one in 3 hours. 32 minutes. Passengers can board them, among others: in Oborniki, Rogoźno, Chodzież, Piła and Jastrów.
